SUMMARY:Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course
DESCRIPTION:High Adventure First Aid\nThis first responder course teaches skills necessary to help sustain life\, reduce pain\, and minimize the consequences of injury during out-of-hospital medical and traumatic emergencies–while waiting for or alongside higher-level personnel at the scenes. \nIt is designed for individuals involved in activities which take them beyond the scope of traditional urban emergency medical services\, where help is delayed in urban or rural situations and in mass casualty incidents\, or for individuals working in paid or volunteer positions in a variety of pre-hospital\, industrial\, and first responder settings. \nCourse runs Saturday\, September 21 through November 23\, 2019\n9:00 am to 5:30 pm. \nCost: $105 first time\, $75 refresher/retake \nFor more info\, contact lead instructor Marleen Lugg: 818-882-4526; email: mmhlugg@alumni.pitt.edu. \nFlyer here. \n
