July’s pair of significant earthquakes once again reminded us about the importance of readiness not only for disaster itself, but also for recovery afterwards.

This year’s theme: Who Pays for Disaster Recovery?

Come meet your neighbors and learn what resources are available and specific steps to take now and after a disaster to promote a smooth and speedy recovery.

We will hear from speakers from:

• California Earthquake Authority (CEA)
• Los Angeles Emergency Management Department (LAEMD)
• Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and
• Others on subjects including:
  • Personal financial preparedness
  • Earthquake and homeowners’ insurance
  • FEMA
  • State and local financial resources and
  • How to organize within your neighborhood to help each other during and after a disaster.
• Emergency supply vendors will be on hand so you can learn what new products are available and pick up some items for your home, car, office, and “go” kits.
