Mt. Washington Neighborhood Disaster Preparedness Meeting
March 14, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
When a natural disaster occurs
– earthquake, heavy storm, strong winds – you and your neighbors become the first responders.
Mt. Washington is building Neighborhood Teams and developing Disaster Response Plans. This meeting will summarize the CERT and MYN programs, and explain how they can work effectively together.
-
- What are the first steps we should each take in a disaster?
- How do we communicate with each other when power is out?
- How do CERT members and others help within the neighborhood?
- Where do we meet, and what roles are assigned?
Meet your neighborhood team leaders and go over the maps of Mt. Washington. Help designate CERT staging areas, public gathering sites, and Map Your Neighborhood blocks. Identify hazards, resources, and FRS radio channels to monitor during a disaster.
